MOMO
Story description: Momo is a mysterious ophan who appears in the city one day. People soon drawn to her for her extraordinary ability to listen and she made many wonderful friends. She would spend afternoons just listening to their problem or playing with the children. However, things changed when a group of Men in Grey appears. They instigate people to stop spending "unnecessary time" and deposit it into the time bank instead. Soon people start to not have time for each other and lost the ability to love and care...except for Momo. Momo managed to save her friends fromt the obsssession with time in the end.
We thought that the plot of the story was too clear and the props were not abstract, it didnt allow freedom of thoughts, myabe it was because that their target audiences were younger teenagers. However the lightings were impressive.
Off center
Story revolves around the unacceptance of the society in accepting mentally illed patients. Despite some may be in the midst of recovery, people still view them in a different light. People are just not giving enough aid to help the recovery of these patients, avoiding them in fear that they may bring harm to them...and some even to the extent of sneering at them. Vinot and Saloma have suppressed their mental conditions and they tried to live a normal life, but the cruelties of the society forced Vinot to resort to sucide and Saloma to setting into her mental illness once again. Sadly, these people are constantly trap in this vicious cycle as they were not given a chance by the society.
The stage design was incredible. There was no change in scene throughout the whole performance. The stage was design in an abtract way by making use of the differnet dimensions such that it could ressemble a school, void deck, restaurant...almost anything. er...very hard to describe. but its like some parts are protruding out and some parts are cut in. They only have 2 mattresses and 2 pillows as props.
I like the way they started off and ended the story. gives people a very unique feeling. Quite hard to describe in words as the effect of reading it is different from watching it...harder to visualise. those that have watched off center will most probably know what i mean.
